owenstein-Morel Associates is a literary agency established in 1991 by Barbara Lowenstein and Madeleine Morel with particular emphasis in the multicultural market.

Lowenstein-Morel was one of the very first literary agencies to recognize an enormous void of African American books in the marketplace and began to develop books for black readers by black writers. We are committed to this audience of book buyers and represent some of the leading writers and experts in their fields.

We are proud of the fact that many of our books have become classics, including SUCCESS RUNS IN OUR RACE and CLICK: Truths to Unlocking and Building Extraordinary Relationships by George Fraser; BODY & SOUL: The Black Woman’s Guide to Physical Health and Social Well-Being, edited by Linda Villarosa; ACHIEVEMENT MATTERS: Getting Your Child the Best Education Possible by Hugh Price, President of the National Urban League; THE POWER OF TEN: How to embrace the Commandments, Handle Stress & Achieve Success by Dr. Arlene Churn; and FROM MIDNIGHT TO DAWN: The Last Tracks of the Underground Railroad by Jacqueline Tobin.
